Mr. Matthews began his martial arts training in 1993. Mr. Matthews's brother, Justin, had started several years before and Mr. Michael Matthews finally found his opportunity to join when his favorite show, MacGuyver, was cancelled.

Now an instructor, Mr. Matthews enjoys helping other students. "I would have to say that it's fun and satisfying knowing that I'm imparting useful/fun knowledge to those who are genuinely interested in it and it's satisfying seeing those students better themselves. Also, teaching helps me to learn and understand way more than I ever would being a student alone."

In 2003, Mr. Matthews graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and is now pursuing his Master's at Tech in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Flight Dynamics and Controls. He has instructed at several locations including Parkview, Lenora, and the Snellville Studio.
